Sudoku 4x4, 6x6, 8x8, 12x12, 16x16, 20x20, and 25x25 Available!

I am happy to announce the addition of the Sudoku board types 4x4, 6x6, 8x8, 12x12, 16x16, 20x20, and 25x25!  Took quite a bit of work to get the system fully operational and ready for you to have fun.  I am currently building additional boards with different difficulty levels to provide you with even more variety.

I have also modified the menu puzzle drop down to make it a little bit easier to find what type of Sudoku puzzle you are looking for with a quick difficulty selector without having to go into advanced options.

Current Development Activities

I am currently working on adding additional puzzle types to Planet Sudoku.  The first one I am working on is Sudoku 25x25.  The board size is the largest I will be implementing into the system.  The board is so large that I am thinking about also adding the ability for the system to automatically resize the board.  However, if I do this then it might be harder for some people to see the actual hints within the board.  I will keep you posted on my progress.  Until then, please keep playing and provide me any feedback you may have.

New Scoring Feature Introduced

I have built in the ability for scoring the Sudoku puzzle while playing at  This new feature will allow me to create leadership boards and show you statistics of your progress.  The scoring is mostly based on your accuracy and if you had to use any helpers to finish the puzzle.  Check it out, and email me if you have additional suggestions.

When playing the system will add points for correct pencil entries, and remove points when you enter a pencil incorrectly or remove it all together.  The system will not dock you for writing notes (multiple numbers within one cell).

Once the puzzle is complete, you have the ability to get score multipliers such as not using any helpers or finishing the board quickly.

Have fun playing!

Sudoku Tutorials / Learning Zone

I took a bit of time to put together some tutorials on how to solve Sudoku puzzles.  Currently the tutorial goes over the solving techniques need to solve all the puzzles on our site.  Take a minute to go over the new section by going to Options > Show Next Move > Solving Technique.  I added roll over functionality to the pictures to provide a before and after view to give you an idea what the solving technique is doing.  I remember when I was learning, this help me out greatly.
